Pen Pal Blog - Is anybody out there? September 20 2012

So now it's time to write another blog post.  I was just reading a very interesting, if a bit cynical, article about how to write a book.  It seems that the question is much more than that.  Most people who ask it want to know how to get a book published, or how to make money writing a book, or how to quit working and "be" an author.  But the thing I realized was that the real core is about judgment.  The real question I have about writing a book is about the audience, not about the writing.  I judge the words I use

I judge my choice of paragraph breaks, grammar and spelling. Sentence fragment? Judge that too.  But what I really want is to write.  To do this I have to divorce myself from the audience.  I have to not worry about whether I will appear foolish for writing something stupid.  I have to let go of my own judgment that my writing is not good enough to be written.

Not good enough to be written.  Who does that guy think he is writing something and publishing it?  Who do I think I am writing like this.

And so I realized, I don't really even want to write a book.  I would much rather write an online diary.  I would also think it was really cool if I could start communicating with other people who want to do the same thing.  A kind of forum.

I don't want to just write a book, I want to start some kind of communication.  A group.  This could be like A PenPal Blog.  It's open to anyone who wants to write something.

Did you read this?  Are you out there?

Anonymously.

Politics

So I have decided to vote for Obama.  I was not even going to participate in the charade, but I changed my mind when the whole illegitimate rape issue came up.  Yes, I get it that it was just some republican crackpot speaking out of turn, but seriously, the republican party has opened itself up to hate mongers.  They have traded science for ideology.  They have traded expedience for truth.  How can anybody associate with a party that peddles ignorance as truth?

Three years later

It is three years or so after I posted that last entry, and that spiritual journey has continued.  So much has changed over that time.  I was in a troubled marriage unaware that it was doomed to failure and today I am engaged to a lovely woman in a much more healthy relationship.

Today is my last day of summer vacation in Idaho.  My son and I have a long journey back to Miami today.

I am almost finished with my study of the Workbook for Students in A Course In Miracles.  There is a work on Saturday night.

Maybe this blog will become my journal.  Help me not to judge whether it is good enough.

This is my first blog post

This blog just fell in my lap. I was reading http://thecleaver.blogspot.com/2009/07/fall-and-rise-of-divine-nexus.html and decided to click the join button, and through a series of screens I travelled until I arrive here.

I have been on a spiritual journey for the last six months, and I have undergone profound changes and been given some profound insights. Perhaps it is now time for me to start sharing some of these insights, and so I will try it.

I was reading the cleaver's blog, and in it he wrote that working on one's spirituality benefits the world because we are all connected. I received the same message during one of the works I have recently attended. The message I received came from God through Sao Miguel. It is the first and most important lesson....

transform yourself, and god will transform the world.

maybe someone will read that and be encouraged to continue their spiritual journey. Maybe it will make a small difference. If it is God's will, then that's what will happen.
